Starting point: Fuente Nueva, (1) on the highway from Guadarrama, next to the “Felipe II” housing division.

The route begins in a path that ascends parallel to the right margin of the Arroyo del Barrancon and goes to the area of the Polvorín.

The path comes out to the paved forest trail, keeps going for 50 m. and turns to the left at the Finnish pass. From here, it levels out, passing through the Arroyo de la Cruz and further on the Arroyo de la Cebadillas (3), finally joining the Paseo Miguel de Unamuno. Just before the cemetery, turning to the right on the street Puerto de Malagón and ascending above the houses through a corridor among the pine trees, you arrive at the Barranquilla stream.

From here, we continue through the Cañada (Ravine) Real Leonesa, next to some houses on our left, until we reach the paved forest trail that we cross to go down another unpaved trail that takes us to the Arroyo del Romeral (4).

The route continues parallel to a medium-voltage power lines going up to a gate that we go through: we take the path on the right that leads us to the Arroyo del Helechal (5). After passing the Arroyo de los Castaños the path divides into two: we follow the one that is most marked, the one on the left.

Further on, we meet the power lines again and we will follow them until we reach a country house with the name “El Cobijo” (The Shelter). Just after we pass it by, a path appears to the right… Here begins the Camino del Caracol (6) that ascends zigzagging until it reaches a trail. To the right, we will head towards the Recreational Area of Los Llanillos and its shelter and further on still, to the Woods Luis Ceballos (8).

The route takes us to the left, to the Arroyo de la Cabeza, where right at its side there is a wall that we cross. From this moment on, it continues by multiple paths that ascend little by little so that once beyond the “belly” of the Barranco (Cliff) de la Cabeza, we sight and then reach La Torrecilla (7).
